Sign letter to Commonwealth leaders: Stop HIV

End the criminalisation of same-sex relations and sex work

Protect vulnerable social groups, such as women and young girls

10/10/2011

Commonwealth countries have 30% of the world’s population but more than 60% of the world’s people living with HIV.

Most Commonwealth member states need to reform their laws to reduce the spread of HIV. Priorities include decriminalising homosexuality and sex work, and the education and empowerment of women and young girls.

Same-sex relations are illegal in more than 40 of the 54 Commonwealth nations, with penalties ranging up to life imprisonment.

Please help us lobby Commonwealth leaders ahead of their summit in Perth, Australia, from 28-30 October.
